Why Excel for Monzo statements?

Excel exports preserve numeric types (amounts stay numeric, dates stay dates), include a frozen header row, and add a totals row at the bottom. No reformatting required before pivot tables or VLOOKUPs.

Monzo's own download options (PDF, CSV (in-app)) cover the basics but don't always include Excel. Monzo's in-app CSV export covers the current account only and skips Pots transfers in some periods. The PDF statement includes every transaction — Pot movements, card payments, bank transfers, and salary credits — and the converter preserves merchant categories where Monzo prints them.
