Bank only offers CSV
Many credit unions, fintechs (Mercury, Brex, Ramp), and international banks export CSV only. QuickBooks Desktop needs QBO.

FAQ

Why convert CSV to QBO instead of importing CSV directly?+

QuickBooks Desktop has no CSV importer — only Web Connect (QBO), IIF, and direct bank feeds. If your bank only offers CSV (or you've cleaned a messy export), CSV → QBO is the bridge.

What columns does my CSV need?+

Three minimum: a date column, a description / payee column, and an amount column (positive = credit, negative = debit). Optional: balance, check number, FITID, category.

Does it generate unique FITIDs?+

Yes. Every row gets a deterministic FITID derived from date + amount + description hash, so re-importing the same CSV won't create duplicates in QuickBooks.

Will it work with QuickBooks Online?+

QuickBooks Online accepts CSV directly via Banking → Upload from file — no conversion needed. This tool is mainly for QuickBooks Desktop and Mac.

Is my CSV uploaded?+

No. CSV parsing and QBO assembly happen entirely in your browser.
