Why QFX (Quicken Web Connect) for TD statements?

QFX is OFX plus an Intuit identifier. Quicken refuses plain OFX unless you pay Intuit's monthly data subscription; converting a PDF straight to QFX bypasses that paywall.

TD's own download options (PDF, CSV, QFX, OFX) cover the basics but don't always include QFX (Quicken Web Connect). TD's EasyWeb PDFs put the running balance on the right edge and include both posting date and transaction date columns. The converter exports both so you can match transactions to your accounting period precisely.
